| For extremely small insects like midges and fruit flies, extra-fine insect mesh is recommended. |
| What size mesh to keep wasps out? |
| All of our insect mesh options will keep out wasps and bees. However, if you are looking to keep out mice as well as larger insects then a woven stainless steel mesh with a 2mm x 2mm hole and 0.56mm thick wire is ideal. |
| Is insect mesh breathable? |
| All insect mesh, from heavy-duty to extra fine, has a high open area which makes it breathable and you can even find vent covers in our collection that are designed to maintain airflow while keeping insects from accessing your home via ventilation systems. Standard-weight stainless steel insect mesh with a 1.35mm hole and 0.23mm thick wire has the highest open area, around 73%, which will allow the most air through. However, for safety reasons, you should never use insect mesh to cover boiler flues. |
