| To cut wire mesh, you will need fencing cutters which are strong enough to snip through metal. For extra thick or strong mesh, we would recommend a decent pair of diagonal wire cutters which can cut through wire up to 3mm thick. Thin, lightweight, or plastic meshes can sometimes be cut with scissors or aviation cutters. |
| How to attach wire mesh to a brick or concrete wall |
| To attach wire mesh to a brick or concrete wall, you will need to use wall screws and washers. This involves drilling pilot holes, inserting wall plugs, and then securing the mesh in place using the screws and washers. |
| What size wire mesh do I need to keep rats out? |
| To keep out both rats and mice, we recommend a galvanized welded mesh with a 6mm x 6mm hole and a thicker 0.8mm wire to prevent rats from chewing through. Alternatively, as stainless steel is a slightly harder material you can also use a stainless steel welded mesh with a 6mm x 6mm hole and a 0.7mm wire. Both of these options are perfect for rodent protection. If you are looking to keep out just rats, then a 13mm x 13mm hole weld mesh with a 1.6mm thick wire is ideal. |

| A 6mm x 6mm hole weld mesh will prevent mice from fitting through any holes and is strong enough to prevent mice from chewing through the mesh. This product is used by pest control specialists, and is the industry standard for mouse mesh.
